I'm going on a fishing trip to Mexico in about 2 and half weeks. Me and my dad are going to lake baccarac and will be staying there for a week. The fishing down there is supposed to be awesome. My dad has already been before and he caught a largemouth that went 12 lb. 12 oz. I've been waitin for this trip for over two years now and was just wondering if any of you guys have been down there and what did you catch most of the big bass on.

I have a friend that went down to Mexico for a month duck hunting, and he said he was supposed to stop at Baccarac, but I do't know for sure if he did or didn't. I've read in some local tournament stats that a 35 lb. bag will put you in the top ten.

I was at Lake Baccarac last week and the fishing was great-- Biggest fish I caught were 12.1 and 12.6 lbs.. Caught these two on 1 oz. jigs with a senko 7" watermelon green trailer.. We averaged over 100 fish per day and caught 35-40 fish over 6 lbs and 9 fish between 8-10 lbs. Late in the afternoon we fished shallow with weightless white super flukes and caught fish on nearly every cast.. Biggest fish on the flukes was 11.8 lbs. One group of two fisherman caught 10 fish over 10 lbs with the biggest at 13 lbs. Spinner baits also worked well in shallow water in the evenings... I used the jig in deep water-24-30 feet and caught the big ones on ledges/drop offs... Hope this helps- Lake Baccarac is great and food was good and service was great...

hey guys, just wanted to let you know i am leaving in the morning for the trip and wont be back until Saturday night. Ive got a long day ahead of me. We have to get on three different planes just to get down there, and a 3 hour drive on top of that. Anyways, just wish me luck and I will post some pics when I get back.

If all schools were made Private, trespassers would be eliminated!
