Hawg Hunt'n
My brother and I are going to a place tomorrow that I call "Paradise". It's were I caught that nice bass at lunch time the other day. There are 8 different ponds on the property that range from 5 to 10 acres. It's going to be 62 degrees here tomorrow with a south wind and that's perfect for that one pond in particular. I'll have to fight the wind with the boat but the wind helps for sure. We are going for the "piggies" tomorrow. I'm pumped!
It may be a little early in the year and we may end up disappointed but it's worth a try. My best 5 fish limit there is 23.7 lbs (I lost a 7+ lb fish that day too). I'm hoping we can beat that! Next month will be better but it's been a mild winter here so who knows. Next month we start practicing for tournaments so this will be some "FUN" fishing! I hope to have some pics for you guys when I get back! BTW... the 7.5 lber I'm holding in my avatar came from that same pond last Spring! Same spot I caught the one the other day. Eric |

Well guys when I got home that evening my neighbor called me and talked me into going catfishing on the James River. Last time he went out he caught a 60 lb. Blue Cat. Well we fished all day and caught around 14 cats but no big ones. I caught the biggest of the day and it went right at 11 lbs. My brother did lose a BIG one though. Have no idea how big but he said it felt like a monster.
I might get a chance to go to Paradise this coming weekend. My daughter's birthday is Sat. and we're having a party for her in the afternoon so we'll see. Here's a picture of the cat I caught. Eric |

dad caught a 18# blue cat on a crappie rod and 4# test p-line last summer, that was a hellava fight and it is proof that p-line is some strong stuff. nice fish addict.

I have to admit i got kitty feavor last year on the river. But it's not hard to do on the river. The flatheads & blues will chase crankbaits.

BassAddict, Are those private ponds? I am always looking for new places to fish. I primarily fish the Potomac & Occoquan rivers and Lake Anna with my boat and I shore fish at Lake Mercer, Huntsman, Royal and Burke Lake. It is nice to try a new place occasionally.
