Tie the lure onto the line and then hold the rod with the lure on it straight out. Â*Press the button and see how it falls. You want to get it to have a steady fall the entire way, not just fall down immediately. Â*If it falls to fast, tighten the freespool up. Â*If it doesn't fall or falls agonizingly slowly, losen it some. Â*Keep going back and forth until it has a nice steady fall, and you're good to go.

First engage all of the brakes by taking off the side cover and pushing them one way or the other. Once you get better with your thumb you can slowly begin to take of each brake one at a time. To control the lures fall. Tie a lure on, It should not fall fast but you should have to hold the rod out from you and shake it to get the lure to start to fall. Adjust the magnetic brake knob accordingly.
But the best way to prevent backlashes is to use that thumb of yours. |

[/quote] Welcome to the site. Hope you stick around and enjoy the show ;D. I will refrain from answering your question, since there are a lot more qualified folks to do it(pssst, listen to Rebasser, he's usually right on the money). I fish mostly with spinning reels myself, but started using the baitcasters some last year. Just keep your spinning gear close to ya, so you can just fish if it gets too tough. I go fishing for pleasure not work ![]() Lizards |
