Hey everybody, I have been a spectator for a while thought I should jump into it. I need another/new rod and reel. I am thinking a 7' with a 6.3-1(bass-pro Bionic combo) I know it is a cheapy,(I have a 6'6" Bionic combo) and it has been good to me. How versatile is the 7' for flippin, jiggin, drop shottn? medium heavy/fast. Or maybe I need to look at somthing else completely? Any help is greatly appreciated.

With regard to length, 7' should serve you well for flipping, jigs, and drop shotting.
However, the action ideal for flipping and jigs might not be ideal standard drop shotting and vice versa. The rod you mention should be good for the first two. You might wish to consider a medium to medium light action rod and perhaps a spinning reel for drop shotting. Now if you plan to drop shot in heavy cover, then proceed by all means with that MH stick. ![]()

yes, heavy cover drop shotting. I have a nice 6' mh spinning rod, what would you guys recommend for different spinning tackle?
