Default Hawg Callin'

Well Guys, what is a big bass to you?

SMALLIE

2lbs. -- Good/Average.
5lbs. -- Nice One!
6lbs. -- Doozie!
7lbs.+ -- Holy Sh!t!

LARGIE

2lbs. -- Average.
5lbs. -- Goodun'.
6lbs. -- Wow!
7lbs. -- Eye Opening!
8 lbs. -- Dayum!
10lbs.+ -- ABSOLUTE MONSTER!

This is by Michigander standards with the record standing at somewhere around 11.25 pounds (Largie), and the Smallie somewhere around nine pounds.

My best LM is somewhere around "Dayum!", standing at 7.61 pounds. My best SM, well, let's just count my LM, ok?

What are your standards???

Thanks for the input Guys, but I was loking more along the lines of a chart; not necessarily your biggest LM/SM. Look at my original post and go off something like that.

Any LM over 3lbs is a nice one, anything over 4lbs is a great fish for me.

As for smallies, I never fish for 'em so I wouldn't know.

I smallie fish a lot. Now haveing said that where yuou live has a lot to do with what a hawg is. My biggest Smallie was 6.3 but I have acaught a lot of 5's. A legal fish here is 18 inches which weighs about 3.7 to 4.0 so 5 lbders are not nearly as special. I havent caught but have seen several 9's. East Tennessee and North Ala have a big population of smallies and a real long growing season . My biggest Lm wa 9.11. I caught it in central florida. My biggest in Tennessee was 6.96. I have seen a lot of 8s here but never caught one. We also have KY spotted bass. My biggest was 4.5 but have seen 5 lbders.
This makes me feel like any LM in the 10 lb range is a super toad, any smallie in the 7.5 range is a super toad and any spott in the 5.5 range is a super toad. These Lm sizes are small in Texas,FL or California. These Sm numbers are great anywhere.
