Default News out of the Classic, Give back!!

Below is the press release put out from the classic abouty Gary Dobyn's and his new company Dobyn's Rods. Gary will be give back to the conservation and the preservation of our beloved sport, check it out!! Big hats off to Gary Dobyn's!!!

Gary Dobyns, the well-known West Coast tournament angler and owner of Dobyns Rods, has announced that his two best-selling models will become "conservation rods" this year. The program was introduced to the BASS Federation Nation state conservation directors at a workshop held in conjunction with the Bassmaster Classic.

For the sale of each conservation rod, $25 will go to supporting the Dobyns Conservation Partners. The two rods in the program, which will retail for $169.99, are the 703C Conservation Casting (7-foot, medium-heavy, extra-fast action) and the 703SXF Conservation Spinning (7-foot, medium, extra-fast action).

"Conservation and preserving our fisheries are something that we talk about all the time, and so often nothing gets done," Dobyns said. "That's why I wanted to align the Dobyns Rods with conservation organizations and support their efforts. Now a portion of rod sales will benefit conservation efforts nationwide."

The program was developed in cooperation with Dobyns pro staffer Tim Cook of Texas, the 2006 Bass Federation Nation Conservation Director of the Year. "Gary Dobyns' commitment to supporting angling conservation efforts sets a remarkable example for the entire sport fishing industry," Cook said. "In many cases, this will provide state conservation directors with a budget to offset expenses where there may have been no budget before."

The program isn't limited to the Federation Nation – it's open to any angling conservation organization that would like to participate. Also, grant opportunities will be available from the sale of the rods through the Dobyns national dealer network.

The Dobyns Conservation Series rods will become available this summer and will be featured at ICAST in Las Vegas. For more on Dobyns Rods, click here or call (360) 225-9436.
