Default Practice casting.

Do you do it? Not that, you dirty minded boy, "practice cast" is what I'm referring to. I do. I pitch in the living room while watching TV and I roll cast a spinner bait in the yard as well as practice with my fly rod in the yard. I met a guy the other day and he said, "hey, aren't you that guy that fishes in his front yard"? I said, "yeah, that's me. I've been busting my *** but I've never caught a damned thing". He laughed.

So, what about you? Do you practice cast? Do you think it would help you? Would you be embarrassed to do it in the front yard---not THAT, practice cast.

Well, since the Cabin Fever has been really bad for me this year, I actually went outside was practiced casting today. I was throwing a Rapala X-Rap for a while and then switched ot a 1/4 sinker so I wouldn't get caught on bushes and stuff. Oh, I forgot to mention, I was casting in about 6-8" of snow.

Not as much as I used to or need to, but I do on occasion.

Not often, but I have in the past. Most often its only for a few minutes to set up a rig, and a lot of the times it is pitchin and not traditional overhead casts. I have gotten looks too.

Surprisingly, I didn;t catch any fish in the snow. Anyways, I was practicing accuracy casting from the side, cause as of now, I have NONE. I'm not that bad overhead, but when it comes to casting from the side, I honestly couldn't hit the side of our house.

I probably made 2000 flips before I could flip well. One thing I have noticed is all pro's are great at casting. How may times have you heard KVD's casting ability mentioned. Fish2win

My best cast is the underhand roll. I can honestly fling a crankbait or spinnerbait a good 30 yds. and put it in a 2' ring time, after time, after time. I use this cast probably 93% of the time....

My overhead-cast on the otherhand is horrible! I'll admit it, I couldn't hit a 10' ring at 30 yds. Honestly...

BB, we need to get together and collaborate on casting!

I practice in my cul de sac while I watch my kids play outside and I don't care what the neighbors think.

I aim for manholes and other targets.

I used to, got pretty good. Stopped practicing and didn't fish as much for a while. The last several years I've been horrible, started practicing a couple of nights ago with a 5 gal. bucket. Was amazed how terrible I really am. Already have seen a ton of improvement in 3 days. Don't think I'll ever stop practice casting again unless I quit Bassfishing.
