Just got done with the last show of the year. Orange Co. High School (not the same Orange Co. as the TV show) has an annual outdoor show to raise money for their Jr. Fed club. Good show with plenty of vendors but slow on the sales
![]() ![]() ![]() Here's a photo of the super sized crawfish found here in VA. It was on display at the Roanoke show. I'd pulled one up a bunch of years ago on the Potomac that was bigger but hadn't seen one since. I was told that they were not native but were an invasive species. All I know is that I'd love to grow a couple dozen and have a little craw bake!!!! Not the greatest photo, the color is off, but it was pumpkin in color and had green pumpkin claws. |

MMMmmmMMM
Good!! Get me a big ol pot and put it on a propane burner outside, fill it with water and crab boil seasoning, throw in a few "new potatoes" and corn on the cob, some onion and a little bit of cayenne pepper. Bring that concoction to a rolling boil then throw them crawfish in there and cook it till the taters are fork soft. It's making my mouth water just thinking about it! ![]()

Throw in a fresh basket of Cracklin, chicken etouffe and some hush puppies followed by more cornbread and then followed by a Mississippi mud pie or creole ice cream finally rounding her off with a small dish of Bourbon bread pudding.

Bama you pinch or bite the heads off and then suck the guts out of them. Most people don't like the word guts so they say suck the juice out of them but whatever.1984 about the 30th day into Ranger school I learned that from a guy from louisiana.I ate the whole damned crayfish, the heck with sucking the guts out of it.I'm not sure if it was the handful of crayfish I ate or the tree lizard I ate but one of them made me a bit ill.

Zook,
They had a bunch of them, as different types, in the tub. This was the only one with rubber bands around the pinchers. Don't know if they added anything to the water but you could play with them if you wanted to. Only they requested that you wash your hands after ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
