I have never used the Extreme, but I own a pro qualifire and a Johnny morris signature series rod, and I have used the Bionic Blade. All three are good rods so I'm sure the extreme will be too.

I have two of them, a 6'6" spinning rod and a 7' Woo Daves crankbait casting rod. Love them both.

I have two Extreme spinning rods (a MH 6'6" and MH 7') and a Extreme baitcaster (M 7"). I love them all. I particularly like the weight system on the butt.

I have four of them(2 spinning, 2casting) love them all! the couter weight on the but allows you to ajust them to the weight of the reel you use on them, a well balanced sensitive rod & reel.

I have 4 of the bait casters and two spinning rod and I love them. The best part is right now there on sale for $59.88 normally about $100.00 pretty good savings. Also WELCOME AND DON'T BE A STRANGER.

I too have two Extreme rods and couldn't be happier. Excellent quality for a rod in that price range. You'll be very happy with the Extreme rod if you buy one.

Maybe i am the only one, but I don't really like mine. It is a 7'2" Woo Davies casting rod I bought for drop shotting. It just seems really heavy to me and not the most sensitive. I have a Calcutta 50 reel on there, so that does add some weight. Maybe I will try a different reel this year and give it a shot again, since I kind of gave up on it.

They're good rods. I little heavy but nice. Tough to beat for the price.

I fished these almost exclusively before I designed the Fishwrench Field Commander. I loved them, but as others state, they're a bit heavy. Most of that weight comes in the handle and reel seat area; heavier components. The blank itself is incredible for that price range; I think it's much more sensitive than higher end rods. In fact, when I was designing my own rod line, that's the feel I was looking for in my blank.

One warning, and I'd take it with a grain of salt. It seems that the failure rate on the XPS Extreme blanks is pretty high. I used to own 14, but bought 17 if you get what I mean. Two of them snapped under normal fishing conditions. The other one I brought in from the cold, and then bent the blank - snap. I think a big part of that is the high-modulus graphite. St. Croix, G-Loomis...they're all experiencing higher failure rates (8% compared to what is normally 1%) with the 54 million and 60 million modulus rods. Still, odds are you won't have a problem with any of them; just know that the odds increase as the modulus goes up.

Good rods, but I HATE the hump handle they have so I don't use them. If they had a straight handle I'd probably give them a second look, but I too find them a little heavy, especially compared to a Low Rider or Cara.

Mine has a split grip and I still don't like the hump near the reel seat. I was talking to some guys in my club today about it and they suggested that I buy the balance weights for it so I will give that a try.

My dad just bought one for himself. I tried it and I really think it's great for the price. He got a 7'6"H ExFast Tip.

I have two 7' M rods. My only complaint is that they don't come with a hook hanger. If you balance the rod out with the balancing kit you won't notice the weight much. My theory on weight is that most of the time when you get fatigued from fishing a heavier rod it's because of the stress on your forearms from supporting the tip. If you balance out the rod the tip doesn't get so heavy.

Few words here....

St. Croix Avid Casting, AVC76MHMF. Simply, this is a 7'6'' rod, Medium-Heavy power, with a Moderate-Fast action. Croix's seem to be rated higher than your average power rating, so this rod has most all the benefits of a heavy action rod.

If you're looking for a lightweight flippin' rod, go with Falcon. Personally, I think these are the lightest rods on the market in the $100-200 range.

I actually like the Power Hump grips. IMO, they are pretty comfortable.

FRANK,
I have tried four different flippin' sticks over the last 15 years, including a early model Shimano (TOO STIFF), an early BPS Power Plus (DID NOT LIKE THE FOAM HANDLE), a BPS Bionic Blade (DID NOT LIKE THE "POWER HUMP" AND ALSO TOO HEAVY) bought a Shimano Clarus a couple years ago and love the feel and the lighter weight. I put the rest of the sticks in the basement. If you would like to buy a couple sticks cheap, I would sell the BPS Power Plus for $25.00 and the BPS Bionic Blade for $40.00. This is half of catalog price for each one. If you buy both, I will pay postage!

Have a couple of them myself. Have snapped two of them- both were replaced w/ no questions asked. I don't even notice the power hump. Out of the 14 rods I own, only 2 are of different brand. My daughter does have 2 Falcon's- good price.
