Default Southern California Lunkers

This isn't much of a report. I just wanted to share some of the better catch my friends and I caught last season.

I still can't get over the size of this fish. I good friend of mine who recently got involved in bass fishing the last couple of years had an awesome year last season with 3 bass over 10lbs with two going over 13#. I can't remember the exact weight, but this fish was 15+ pounds. Congrats Jimmy (jbone).

Sinjin, did these bass come out of Lake Castaic or other impoundments in southern California? Good bye, Florida, hello California in my search for a bass over 10#'s. Do you fella's use guides or just do this on your own? The one picture has a July 4th date on it. Are you actually catching fish like this at that time of year ? I'll be dreaming about these fish for weeks!

The fish pic with the July 4th date was actually caught on that day. Night fishing during the summer months at Castaic Lagoon consistently produces larger fish as this body of water is gin clear and the bigger fish tend to hug the deep bottom during the days; out of range from shore. However, at night the larger fish will roam the shallows in search of forage.

The pics of the fish were caught at 3 lakes: Lake Perris, Castaic Lake and Castaic Lagoon (after bay of Castaic Lake).
