Got out for the first time on this private body of water today. Little Jr Federation tournament put a couple teens in the boat with me. Lures flying all over the place, most in the trees, made it an interesting day. This 500+ acre pond holds quality fish and I understand why. It averages around 9' deep for most of the pond. It has laydowns all over the place, along the shore and out in the middle of the pond and everywhere in between. It has many stumps too and most are in 8-10' of water (but the fish on them weren't feeding). Add to that overhanging trees, buck brush, and pads
![]() Took a couple pics for everyone and somehow my cell phone sent them to that great void in the the communication network. Pics are gone ![]() Caught 3 keepers which averaged 1.5lbs each. Not bad for a tough day and fishing new water. First fish was caught shallow on a GP Senko. Next one was in 7-8' on a small laydown or branch on a 6" ringworm. Last one, blew up on a GP Horney toad ![]() ![]() Last edited by 3dkicker; 05-05-08 at 09:37 AM. |

Sounds like a great place. I'll be fishing a pond this coming Saturday. Can't wait to do some "fun" fishing!!!

Think of your best area on Buggs at 303' and then think of the entire pond, all 500+ acres, being that way....oh, baby!!!
One of the students on my boat hit a 10" gill on a DT10 in Crawfish. They'll be spawning too, water temps 71.2 degrees, so the bass should be on a post spawn bluegill feed soon. |
