I haven't mentioned this tournament yet because I was so disappointed in what happened to us but I'll fill you in.
2 weeks prior to the tournament we found 5 spots that had good fish and numbers. We were on them! We decided to run the tide and fish a place we did well at last year first. We ran there and caught 15 bass in 2 hours. We had 4- 14"+ keepers and decided to go fish our other spots before the tide got too low. We stopped to hit a tree real quick and when we were "trying" to leave the motor quit on us. It bogged down trying to get on plain and then when it cut off we couldn't get it started again. We were done at 9:00am. I was SICK!!! I really feel we would of had a great day. It took us 4 1/2 hours on the trolling motor to get to the closest marina. Nothing really good to fish in between. By the time we got there the batteries were about dead. My dad was in the tourney and picked me up and the fish we had to go to the weigh in. We had 8.23 lbs and finished 52nd out of 120 teams. I then had to drive back to the other marina to get my brother and the boat. What a bummer! He took the boat to a shop and they found a "probe" that was flat and said it could have been the problem but it started for them and ran fine. We are going to take it out next Sat. to practice for our tourney on the 24th and hopefully we won't have anymore problems. The same thing happened to use last year and cost us a good finish. It was the fuel line last year. I also have a FOM tourney on Kerr the 31st. I'm fishing that with my dad. Will be nice for him and I to get a chance to fish together again.
