I am thinking about getting the new Crucial rod from shimano in 6.5 medium casting rod. I was wondering if any of you guys or gals have the crucial rod and if you like it. I was wanting a loomis or all-star this summer but can't really afford it. I figured for 130 or so it seems like a great rod!

I have a shimano crucial rod that i've been using for about 1 1/2 years. I love that little rod..I put a shimano mg50 reel on there. Talk about a light rig....I really have had a nice time with it though. It's awful that it costs that much there for you. I paid only 119 for it at Gander Mountain here in Texas. About a little over a week ago i took my reel off of this rod and put that mg50 on my new carott stik. I am very very pleased with it so far. But I can definately say that if your going with the crucial you'll not be disappointed at all.

I use the Shimano Crucial Drop Shot rods, 7'2" medium action, for shakey heads, drop shot and medium to light football jigs and love them. Been using them for nearly three years now and absolutely no complaints!

Yes. These rods are really nice. I like everything about them. They're super strong and very sensitive. I'd recommend this rod any day. I've got the 7' H Extra fast.

I have the 6'10" MH. I love this rod. Let tell you a little something. On a 22 degree day in January, I felt the bite of a smallie 55' down. My hands were beyond frozen and my fingers beyond numb. Matter of fact, I could barely hold my rod or turn the reel's handle as a result of the cold.
Yet, I felt the take of my fish my jig. I reared up for the hook set but my frozen hands couldn't seal the deal. So with numb hands and fishing a deep depth, I felt the take. That is excellent sensitivity in my book. Now go get yours. ![]()

I was poking around cabelas today getting some new TM batteries and half considering a new rod when I picked up a crucial 6'9" M. It says it's for drop shot but I'm going to try it for sticks first, maybe shakey too. It was so light and sensitive I fell in love.
