Had a good day out on Candlewood Lake this past weekend, boated well over 50 fish each. We were hoping to catch more giant smallies but there is always next time

Great fish! What were you using to get their attention?

i was chuckin spinnerbaits all day long.. i cant wait to get back to that lake by far the best fish factory ive ever fished..ive heard that once those smallmouth get up on the docks the fishing is absolutely unreal. only problem with candlewood is that once all the water skiiers and recreational boaters get out there it gets pretty dangerous... ive never fished long meadow before good spot ?

yeah it's ok , you can't put anything with a motor on it but if you feel like paddling a little it's cool . there are also so nice grass beds and a little cove in the pond right off the road , it's produced for me before so no complaints , you get a lot of dudes around there throwing worms and grubs in any open area so i try to stay to areas with thicker weed beds and pads were no one else is and stick to top water frogs and then craws . I really can't wait to get back up to candlewood though , haven't fished there since right after high school , been like 8 years .
