For those of you who were as disappointed as I was that the photo's I took of this bass spawn factory disappeared into cyberspace but I got back on the pond today. I still had some problems but I got photos this time. And I picked up a couple nice fish too.
Weighed 5 that totaled 12.0 lbs. A couple post spawns with a 3.5 and 3.9 to add in. Very slow day with one fish on a Series 3, one on a 6" GP Senko imitation, and the rest on Papi Craw's and flippin' weights. The biggest came off laydowns in 2-3' of water. |

Nice pigs, 3d! You've been sore-mouthing a lot of bass these days. Hope it goes like that for all year

Yesterday I really got to test my new flippin' stick. The 7'5" Mossyback with 25lb Big Game. Hung the big fish in the branches and the Scorpion stopped picking up line, drag wasn't set tight enough. I went to tighten the drag and went the wrong way. The rest was just hilarious. Fortunately the fish was pinned against a branch and couldn't move and I just pulled the branch up by the line and lipped the fish.
The second one was no problem with the drag properly tightened. I'm all set for Friday! |

Nice fish 3D!!! Looks like a pretty sweet spot!! I'm ready to hit some ponds here pretty soon instead of dealing with all the jet skis and stuff!!!

Water color is different on this pond. It's very dark color but you have 2-3' visibility. It also has a lot of 1/4-1/2" fibers suspended in the water. It's similar to the tannic water found on Chick Lake but not the same. From the pictures it looks dirty but it really isn't.
6 hours, 3 fishermen, 7 keepers, 1 short fish. Not the best day but I can't complain. I got to fishin'. |

I'm surprised that I've done this well so far this year. Normally the spring is my worst season catching numbers and quality. In the past I'd pick up one or two decent fish all spring but that's it. This year me or my partner seem to find one or two every time out. Hopefully it continues.....
