Default South Florida Peacock Bass 6-4-08

South Florida peacock bass fishing is red hot this week. Lowell Shapley from Houston, Texas and I boated 68 peacocks up to 5 lbs. which Lowell landed on a orange twister tail jig. For more information on fishing South Florida check out these great websites at South Florida Fishing Adventures and Amazon Peacock Bass Fishing Florida

Yes it's definately bigger than average. Some biologists say anything bigger than 3 lbs. is a trophy and another says 5 lbs. is a wall mount. I tell anybody who fishes with me that I take the middle road and say anything bigger than 4 lbs. is worth a replica!

Default South Florida Peacock Bass

Yes this jig color works along with many others. Even bucktails hair jigs work good too. The key is working those jigs fast!
