Default New P.B. Bass Today!!! (Pics)

Hey guys got out this morning around 7:30 at a couple of local reservoirs and they were biting great... from 7:30 through about 9:30 they were crushing the poppers pretty good (Strike King Spit-N-King), me and a bud picked up about 7 or 8 on the poppers, mostly little ones, although there were a few exceptions. After the popper bite died, tried some shallow cranking, nothing, so tied up a 5" Yum Dinger in Junebug. Picked up a smaller one on the first few casts with it, then moved down the bank a little, and threw out and let it start falling. About 10 to 15 seconds into the freefall, i felt the old tick tick, and off the line went. I set the hook, and the fight was on. The fish jumped out of the water, and i almost p!$$ed myself when i saw the size. She was stripping off drag (Cabela's Prodigy Baitcast Reel spooled with 14lb. Berkley Vanish Transition) like it was nothing. Eventually get her up to the bank and lip her... I was so excited to get my new P.B. bass of 8.85 lbs!! She measured 25" in length and 17" for girth. (That's good for a northern Ohio Largemouth). My old record was 7.2 lbs caught on a Mann's Baby 1-. Also picked up a few more little ones throughout the day on finesse worms, and X-Raps) Here are some pictures from the day:

A lot of fun on the water Today!!

Excellent, ArrArrDubya. Looks like you're having a little struggle keeping the big one lipped in the first pic of it. Gotta love that...

Yeah, jsut as that picture was being taken, she started to shake her head again, and an almost nine pounder isn't that easy to hang onto when she's shaking like that...

Wow, great fish... I love the way you built the suspense with the picts by putting the small ones first. You gotta smile bigger than that for a PR! Congratulations!
