Just watched a segment on InFisherman regarding red:

Red hooks, red line, etc. They talked about red line disappearing (according to researchers at Berkley it doesn't, but is less visible in muddy/tannic stained water) and red hooks triggering strikes, etc. The question was posed is red a "magic" color and the answer is no. The bottom line was what I kind of thought all along:

If you think using red hooks or red line lets you catch more fish, it does. In other words, it all comes down to one thing. Confidence.
