Large arbor Reel is the same as a high speed retrieve. Which is somthing i really don't own. On bigger fish it puts more pressure on the fish when fighting it. But you need the drag dialed in. When using a reel like this.

How often do you get a fish to the reel?

Looks good. I had a sage and loved it, but recently received a Tibor QC everglades reel. Its a world of difference, but both are good.
What are you fishing for? TB |

I fish the missouri River. I love Carp on the fly rod there is no better fun. My best is 28lbs. But i have caught white bass, Buffalo, Catfish, Sauger. I wanting a spey rod with this reel. I like Orvis 2 handed spey. So many tree's i am really limited on Back Casting. I love shadow casting at the fish as well. Itz neat watching fish rise out of the water to strike the fly

Here is the pole i want to match to the reel. http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/te...spey&noImage=0 9/10 weight is the one i'm looking at. When your spey casting you need a taller longer pole. Because your wipping 50 to 80 feet of line in one cast with out back casting. Also you need to apply a shooting head they can be heavy.

I love fly fishing for carp. Best fighting fish in freshwater IMO.
