I was looking at that ICAST write-ups and noticed that E21 released new rods this year which have cork handles instead of the black rubber grips. Perhaps, the folks at E21 listened to the feedback or read some of the posts on this site.

the eva foam make them look cheap as hell and on a $250 rod. i love the cork handles...
not sure about an orange rod with cork grips.. zooker

Zooker, i got a Carrot LTX stick (the 150 dollar rod not the Duckett that goes for over 200). It was a spur of the moment buy after I broke a rod on fishing trip. I gotta admit that it has been a good rod. Relatively light but heavier than my Kistler.

EVA Foam handles are cheap. I tell you right now as someone makes a rod here & there. There is a whole lot of mark up in that rod even down to the guides that are used. It is allot of hype. If weight is an issue i know of one rod that will match it & it cheap with cork handles. That'z the berkley cherry wood @ just 19.95.
