Ever wonder if Mexican restaurants re-use the chips?
Well we stopped at the hometown Mexican joint today. While pleasantly munching chips my wife noticed a greasy torn sweet and low (tm) wrapper in the chips. Obviously discarded by a previous patron when the chips were "finished." The waiter shrugged and took them away...I had some guacamole, as I am want to do, but he never brought chips back. The food came as he was taking them away (thank god). I was worried about saliva retribution. I had to say, "Dude I need chips to finish my guac"...So guess what brand spanking new, not chipped, scratched or even cracked new chips...WOW!! Anyway the bill was 11.00 and I say Adiós' 3 Amigos ![]() ![]()

Our favorite couple of places doesn't do that at all. They have a Chip-maker box thingy that they scoop up whenever your order, always hot and fresh.

It'd make me ponder what they re-used in the rest of the food.

You do have a point, normally the meal would be about 25.00, I still don't know where they figured out $11.00...But I will never eat there again

The mexican restaurants around Alabaster, AL are just "flavored" laxative retailers. When my wife wants to go to Habeneros, I just order a kids chicken finger plate. Those are much safer than the "mexican" plates.

i agree with ol zookie here and most of the rest of you. here around where i am now there are alot of mexicans. and they have REAL mexican food resteraunts. i don't care for it myself, but the wife loves it. i think it is like anywhere you go. if you want REAL seafood, go to the gulf or cast. if you want real mexican food. go to one that is owned by REAL mexicans. only thing i like mexican....... well.... i can't answer, hehehehe. no, i'll eat the steak and chicken fahitas ( i know, the spalling ain't right).
