Default Mayberry Burnout Compitition

Hey After the reponses about the pics from the last car show, I decided I'll post some more. A car show near us has a burnout competition every month. They used to block off the street and do it there, then they actually poured their own concrete burnout strip. Anyways, I won't post them all cause I've got about 175, but I'll get some highlights from the burnouts.

By the way, NEVER, and I mean NEVER try to do a burnout in a Kia Rio. seriously, NEVER! They guy almost got booed off the strip even before his pitiful attemp at a burnout. This included comments like, "Buy American!" and my personal favorite, "Coulda had a V8" (pun intended??)

Not the best burnout, but my favorite series of pictures. Some little rice burner Nissan by the way.

The guys in the Kia cmae back in this Checy Pickup

Then we had this old beater.

I'll skip to the better part.

One of the best one wheel peels I've seen. Blew the tire too.

BB,
in the motorcycle community a burnout competiton doesn't end until a tire goes BOOM.
and alot of times the winning prize for putting you scoot through a really harsh few minutes isn't enough money to even replace that rubber...smells good though http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8gkxOPwjyo0

Of all the time we've been going to this show, this was by far the best burnout comp. Almost everybody that wenty up blew the tires. (with the exception of the Kia and the guys who "have to drive it home"

Like I said, they used to do it in the street, but then they got the tacked made. About two years into it, the people that live in the appardments behind the comples where this show is held started to complain about. (yeah, once a month for 4 or 5 months a year.) They got the Sylvania Police involved and even though it was originally OK'ed with them, they put a time limit of the competition, patrolled the street after the show, and stopped the show, exactly at the time it was supposed to end. This was the last two shows 2 years ago, and all last year. At the end of last year, they didn't even have enpough cars int he competition to last the whole 15minuntes they gave them to do the show. Yeah, only 15 minutes. The people started "The petition to end Mayberry Burnouts" Needless to say, either they gave up, or lost, because the show started at 7:15pm and lasted close to an hour and a half. with more cars than ever before.

Oh yeah, the people that complained about the burnout also complained about the music concerts they played at the ampitheatre like thing across the street. (which they've been doing for over 30 years I think.) Those poeple just need ot like go out to dinner or somthing once a month if they don't like the burnout. or move. I vote for the latter.

As promised, here's the pics of some cars. Didn't take a lot though cause I learned how to take "continous"shots on the digital, and save memory for the burnouts. But here's a few.

Experimentaion with the color adjusting and stuff on the camera.

AAR 'Cuda

Haven't seen this one before: Very nice car too.

I had to get a picture of at least one of them.

GT300?? I like the new Grabber Orange though.

Looks like a good show. I like the looks of the new Dodge, but don't really want one. I saw one of the new ZR1 Corvettes in town the other day, do want one of those.
Where is Mayberry?

The red circle is the burnout strip.
The light blue is where cars are allowed to park. Any more come, they get turned away.
The dark blue is where people were parking last year before they started turning people away. On the lawns of people houses, in the grass between the parking lot and the street, and even on the grass across the street.

The yellow dot is where we we've been all year (give or take a few parking spaces) Although we get there at about 3-3:30 and the show offically starts at 5:00. Last year we got there at 4:30 and had to park way in the back.

Best burnout I ever saw was a Tiberon that had 2 engines and two trany's in it . both engines were putting 375 down at the wheels , the dude put the front wheels in reverse and the back in drive , the car just started to spin on axis it was kinda sick happened at a show in New Jersey .
