Default Looking at gettin new setup

Sorry havent been on much lately...been busy with school, work, and of course FISHING ! Hows everyone?

But anyway I was fishing the other day and heard a splash ...looked over and 2 of my rods were slowly sinking.... I jumped in got wet, but didnt get my rod. A few cold hours later and a new phone I find my self wondering what kind of reels / rods I should get.

Reels $ 220 and below

Rods 70 below

I was think the Johnny Morrison reel the blue one and maybe the KVD qua. reel? But I am open.

Not sure on rods . 6'6 something using them for cranking and spinnerbaiting.

Thanks for the help!

are you saying $220 a piece or combined?

i would reccomend the revo sx if you are meaninng a piece ( i have several and love them all). if you mean combined then i would reccomend a bps extreme (i have one and really like it, great reel for the money). as for rods.......i am a falcon guy and the origionals are pretty affordable considering they are higher end rods, i think they are around $90. but i have heard good things about the berkley lightning rods and they are cheap so you may check into them.

220 for reel as top price and 70 for rod

i thought you meant that you were buying 2 rods and 2 reels. anyways, i still highly reccomend the revo sx but there are a lot of good reels out there in that price range or cheaper. if you were to buy a revo sx you would have enough money left over from the reel budget to buy a falcon rod which i also highly reccomend but it all comes down to what you prefer.

For $30 more you can get a ChronarchMG, my favorite reel so far. Or check out the new Curados, I haven't found one in stock yet locally otherwise I'd get one to try.
As far as rods right at the $70 mark, I would get a Shimano Clarus. I don't mean to sound like a fan boy of Shimano, but for reels they are my favorite. And for rods they are very good for the price.
The other thing you could do is shop around and get a much higher end rod used in that price range.

Revo SX or STX, Daiwa Zillion if you're willing to spend a bit more. the New Curados look awesome too. The Johnny Morris reels are great reels too. As for Rods, Shimano Compre is good, but about $20 more than you said. Other than Falcon, or Fenwick rods are good.

I agree with Carolina. I love my Revo SX and recommend it. I have mine attached to a BPS Pro Qualifier rod. It's a sweet combo. The rod is a 6 1/2 foot MH action with fast tip.

revo all the way, i've got an sx-hs and a premier. love both of them. sx is on a bps extreme 7' med heavy ( this can be bought as a combo from bps ) and my premier on an outlaw rod.

Ditto on the Revo/Falcon Original series combo. Nice rigs. I'm replacing my current reels with Revos.
