Hey everyone. I haven't been on here in a while, but thats normal of me around this time. I'll be on more soon now that I'm getting hyped to fish for bass again.
My question.. Lake Michigan is really cold now in South Wisconsin, but it's not frozen. Where would bass be? Miles offshore, or is there a change I could catch them in one of the Steelhead pools? I've never seen one shallow in the winter, but they may be near. What do you think? Thanks. |

Hi Jools. Welcome back. I live near the big lake here in NW Indiana. Around here, the only smallmouth I hear of being caught this time of year on Lake Michigan is near the warm water discharges of power plants and such, and also around the breakwalls, and in the harbors. Look for rock piles and such. Good luck.

I just talked to a guy I work with today and he told me he was down at the lakeshore, and it's frozen as far as the eye can see over here.

Haha. Thanks bama. I'll try to catch one if the weather allows me. I don't like fishing through ice holes though.
