My boat is not ready for the water, but i am starting it in the yard every 4-5 days to keep the motor running. I dont want to let the motor get all crudded up since it took me so long to get it running. How ofter do i need to charge my starting battery? Its a brand new interstate 1000mca starting battery. I plan to charge it after every fishing trip, but i shoiuld have to charge it after every start, right? Thanks in advance

I pray you're using earmuffs whenever you start the motor. That's a quick way to lock it up completely.
I wouldn't charge it every time you start it, as long as you're not having to spin it over a lot to get to to crank. You lose comparitively little power if when you start your motor. |

i am using muffs. motor seems so be pumping water well. It has been taking only about 3 seconds to start the motor. So i should be good for a a couple weeks then? Or should i just check the voltage to tell me when? if so what voltage?

Yeah, couple of weeks should be ok. The charger I have tells me when it's fully charged. If yours does, too, just go by that.

Best way I can put this is CHARGE the batteries every time you take her fishing. The small time you use the battery when on the muffs doesnt require a charge unless you have a motor that was made before they actually made the engine with the charging system buiklt in.
