I fished the golf course yesterday after work and caught my first bass of the year. I caught 4 total. One on a LC RC 2.5 crank, 2 on a Zoom Ultravide Speed Craw, and 1 on a chatterbait. The biggest one was 2.5 lbs on the chatterbait. I also broke one off on a spinnerbait because of the old line I still had on the reel. That will all get changed out soon.
I fished the pond at my hunt club today and caught 6 more. 4 on a LC Pointer 78 and 2 on a 3/16 oz. black/blue jig with a 4" (cut to 3") blue fleck power worm as the trailer. Biggest fish was on the jerkbait and went about 1.75 lbs. Only fished by the dam from the bank. Wish I would of had my boat!! ![]() Kevin, I put this post in the report section too.

BassAddict that sure is a great way to start out your new year, wtg!
The weatherman is forecasting temps in the mid to upper 40's next week, I think I'll scout out some of the local ponds for my NewYear Bass. ~Mark |

Here's the pic of my chatterbait bass. It was dark when I caught it and I had to take the pic myself.

The real ticket came on a Chatterbait tipped with a Lake Fork Tackle "Magic Shad"! John Tanner, weighed some humongus limits with that combo by slow rolling it just fast enough to tick the tops of the hydrilla along the edges of the creek channels (like the one going into Goose Pond). We're talking a 5 pound average on the fish, John! The other producer was the rattle trap I told you about and then finally the jig n pig. ![]() PS. the one that finished further back in the pack was none other than Mark Pack, the owner of Lake Fork Tackle.
