you can flip them under a dock like you would a worm you can fish them in deep water like a carolina rig you can flip it at the base of cypress trees in the spring or early summer my favorite way to fish it is, to flip it into the nastiest cover you can find...places where most people arent fishin...just remember...if you arent losin 2 or 3 jigs per trips you arent fishin em right |

Flip it, pitch it, drag it, hop it, swim it-you really can't fish it wrong. It also depends on the type of jig.
A finesse jig and a round or bullet head jig I cast out and retrieve with a lift-and-drop retrieve like a plastic worm. A flipping jig-one with a heavy head and heavy hook I drop into heavy cover either by flipping or more often pitching. A football head I drag-I want to keep in touch with the bottom. A bullet head jig also makes a good swimming jig-I retrieve it like a spinnerbait. I try different retrieves to let the fish tell me what they want.

After watching Kevin's jig video I started setting the hook on what I had previously thought was grass. Prior to that I had only caught a handful of jig fish. Since then I consider it one of my go to baits.

I know of only one way to fish jig that was left off: STROKE IT! Works well when the fish are on ledges but they are suspended. |

there is no wrong way to use a jig.. there is just ways that wont work.. there is no right places they work. just places they wont work.. for me i use them like a carolina rig. chunk it a drag it back slowly.. i do however prefur to use them in deep rock piles or barren points.. zooker
