is winter over yet?
so today I finally got sick of waiting for the 7' mojo plastics rod. Im kind of an instant gratification person. lol, So I decided to go to dicks and pick up a nice 7' medium Avid instead.. i strapped my curado e7 to it and god i cant wait till ice is out so i can play with this combo.. feels so light compared to my other citica and tour pt setups. now the darn ice needs to go away so i can finally catch a bass in 2009... DAMN NEW ENGLAND!!!

I hear ya IS300. I'm sick and tired of winter myself. Supposed to drop into the teens the next several nights here, so I don't think the ice is going to go anywhere soon. But on average, the lakes around here are usually ice free by March 11th. It better warm up soon if thats going to happen!

Got ice coming down right now. Supposed to snow tomorrow. Got my first tournament in two weeks and need to get the boat in the shop for a little work before the season starts. Probably won't get it there tomorrow.

I though so too, but then I remembered, It's Toledo...
We had a week in the 40's to 50's. Now it's 16, and there's more ice on the water! I've got all my combo's set up and ready, except the one I'm still looking for a rod for. But for now, I stuck my revo on one of my dad's G.Loomis Rods. (hey, he doesn't have a reel for it yet, so why can't I use it.) BB

I don't know about you, but spring begins in March whether the the thermometer says it or not. So then, for me winter is over. I've been patiently waiting long enough, now its go time. See ya on the lake!

It's trying to warm up in West Texas although there have been a number of good fishing days in Jan and Feb. The schedule just hasn't cooperated with the weather. We did go out Friday afternoon. Fishing was slow until I threw a worm right into a 4 pounders mouth at the end of the day. What an accurate cast (yeah, right). Tuesday is looking real good with temp in the 70's and light winds.

MOJO Rods
I was in Wacky Worm yesterday and they're getting ready for their spring sale ( 3-3 til 3-15 ) and Lou said he got in the Mojo rods. If you've never been there it's a great shop and GREAT people to deal with. For more info go to their web site and click on spring sale. bigbasser

yeah it sounds like you east coast people may have a few more weeks of respooling and organizing baits ahead of you.

Got about 4" now and some sleet mixing in with it. Roads are probably a mess. They're not frozen now but will be by morning.

No problem for me. I learned long ago how to handle snow and drive in it. Too bad the 4x4 is in the shop. And I would go to work but with the snow there won't be any school or practice. Kind of hard to have track, soccer, baseball, and softball practices and games when it snows. I could sit around the athletic training room all day but it gets boring with no one around .
Hey - We just had lightning. We've got a thunder snow storm going on right now. Cool! That doesn't happen often. Got 1 or 2 more inches of snow coming before it ends tonight. |
