Default trick worms

are trick worms and floating worms the same thing?

also, i always see hot pink, lime green, orange, white, yellow, and all sorts of other bright colored floating worms when i go in fishin stores...ive never used any bright colors like these....i stick with the traditional june bug, green pumpkin, june bug red, and stuff like that....anyone ever use those bright colors?

thanks,
-spro

fishing spro, down here in north carolina, we consider the floating and trick worm the same. the bright colors really do catch fish. the best way i rig them, is wacky style, and mostly use the bubble gum pink color. you can also rig it texas style without the weight. i pitch the worm out to a possible target and let it sink alittle then twich it back to the surface and again i let it sink. with the bright color of the worm ,you can most times see the strike. hope this helps. catbird

I think I'm right in saying this.

Depends on the definition of a floating worm.

Do floating worms have to float? If so, then no, they are not nessesarily the same. Sometimes people get lazy and call SUVs, trucks and trick worms, floating worms.

Trick worms are essentially any straight worm meant to be fished weightless in my understanding. That heading def. includes sinking worms and floaters.

A Zoom Trick Worm does not float. It is a fine fish catcher, though. There are floating worms that look similar to the Trick Worm that may also be called trick worms.

As far as colors go, I have used the white, bubble gum, and methiolate colors with success.

a floating worm is also a method of fishing .... you use a swivel, then 2 feet of line where there is a floating worm (we use a zoom trick worm) and you twitch it like a fluke..... for floating worms we use bright colors..... but if we use a zoom trick worm on a c-rig or texas rig we use natural colors (june bug, green pumpkin, etc)

For the floating worms, I know one guy on here used big floating walleye jigs to fish them. I am definately going to try that this year.

you cant beat a zoom trick worm in the edge of grass white and pink are the best but lime green is close behind, but I catch aboout 10 to 1 small fish to better fish unless they are spawning

Rig them with a bend in them every now and then and twitch them back. They act really crazy with the bend in them

floating worms contain more air and foam particals in the mix trick worm have salt and scent and no foam particals.. floaters i like pumpernickle, bubble gum,blueberry..

if your wanting a true floatin worm the company name is; deep creek lures..they make a 9" floater that kicks.. also a finsse worm that WILL stand up on a shakey head..
