Thumbs up Got to go fishing! One hawg! **pics**

I went fishing with my dad after I when to Gander Mt. to pic up a few things, I went to get Anacondas, ended up with a bunch of other stuff! Oh, BTW, I also when with a friend; last time I saw him was before my B-day. He got me a nice pocket tool!

Anyways, I caught one bass in the beginning. My dad caught 2 small-ish ones. We caught them all and the 10' Rage Tail Anacondas. Me and my dad caught the only fish. We had an encounter with water moccasin, and an encounter with a small python! I almost got bit by the moccasin, I was climbing on some rocks and I got a strike........ only fish was not the one striking! Thankfully it missed me! I'd like to fish another day!

Oh! Did I mention the bass I caught was a 5-pounder! 18', 16' fat!

Before ya ask it was caught and released.............. in grease!

Pics:

Thanks for looking,

I think the bassresource one is off. There is no way that my 25" Fish in my avatar weighed over 10. It is at leas a couple pounds high.

Last night I used six different ones, I averaged the weights and than dived the total number of calculators I used. I got 5.067lbs.

The lowest I got was 4.42 and the highest I got was 5.76.

I think it's pretty safe to say it's in the 5lb class range!

I'd love to but I am not paying 120$ for Bogas, what's the best under 50?

I've been looking at this one for sometime!

I agree. Catch and release the bass you catch, or atleast the ones over three pounds. That fish is a little bit under five pounds.... It should have been able to grow way over five pounds though

Well Bama, some people need to be educated on C & R before they will continue keeping every fish they catch. Now if it was during the spawn then I do problem with those who pull them out of nest to keep them. The fish he post I'm sure it is male. If it is spawning season in Florida and the bass is trying to guard its nest then again I do have problem with it because the fry can not survive on their own. Btw the kid looks like hes always hungry so...

Thanks for the back up bama!

5lbs is not big for south fl. But it's probably the 2nd or 3rd biggest bass I've caught.

I'm almost sure the bass have spawned or, are towards the end! It's been the right temp for the spawn for since late Jan. early Feb. and through out.

And just to comfort you guys a little. I did not catch this in a pond, It was in a canal the goes to lake Okeechobee and to the ocean. So their is plenty of bass to populate. Also I caught it in like 15' water, so I don't think it was on a nest (to deep). I also release 85%-90% of my bass.

I also would have let it go if I had my camera, or a measure tape. If I did, I would have measured it, piced it and let her go (or him).

But I did not bring, although I meant to.

Hope this helps you guys have a little peace of mind, that I'm not a bass keeping a machine, that's the only like the 3rd bass out of 47 that I've caught.

And also, thanks for the complements!
