you should of saw the other pic on bassmaster..... 12lbs 13 ounces..... i dont think he is going to win because he had an 8lber too..... kinda of lucky i would think....

great fishermen but i think other people are on better, more consistent fish..... Rook was 2lbs behind but he didnt have one over 6......

I think Amistad is disappointing the anglers

true my friend, very true. but we lack the size for that catch of a lifetime. wheeler is close, ive caught some good ones there, pickwick, also some good ones. but for the monster.....im gonna have to travel. but you cant beat it for the smallies here though. when i get home(less than 15 days) its on. that first fish, no matter how big, will be heaven.

You're 100 miles away from the best big bass lake on earth. You are 2 miles away from one of the best smallie lakes.

Man, you are set up. I wish I could get back home, I miss the TN river not to mention wading at goose shoals, wildwood park (bet you know where I'm talking about) and the other smallie streams up there. I'm stuck down in baldwin county. Sick of the salt. I'm fixin to organize a breakout nest week to millers ferry, but thats just a stopgap.

i know exactly what you are talking about. i love where i live. i spent last year in north TX, and now im in the friggin desert pretty close to the buttcrack of the world(iraq). i love fishin pickwick and wilson. 10 minutes from the house! lower end of wheeler is only 30 minutes. ive got it made. i get home in about 15 days, and i have a tournament to fish with my dad at cedar on the 28th. i cant wait. the last time we fished it we finished 2nd, by ounces, with a 7lb kicker! and it wasnt big fish. i caught it on a spinner-bait and it was awesome. nothing in the world beats catching a fish worth money.

Well, first off then thankyou for your service . You deserve one hell of a fishing trip when you get home.

I learned to fish out of 1st creek on wheeler.

I headed to Wheeler in about 5 weeks and I can't wait. Fished it last fall and caught close to 100 a day for 6 days. I've been to Amistad and it's better fishing than Wheeler, but not by a lot and wheeler is a whole lot closer.

the whole month of april will be a fishing trip. except for my vacation in biloxi. ill be making up time on the water and with my wife. first trip is cedar lake. then down to pickwick, to the flats below the trace bridge. the grass is growing great there. we did good there last year. then im going to wheeler. hopefully catch some mothers there. i was lucky enough to fish with the man who holds the lake record on wheeler while fishing my first ABA tourney there. theres really no better way to learn than to fish noboater with a man that knows the lake. he won that day and i saw why. took some tips and strategies from there and applied them at home.

i learned to fish on spring creek on pickwick. i hate wilson, but i need to learn it better.

Wilson is the wildcard on the tennessee. It can be so difficult, but it holds some monsters. Absolute leviathans.

I liked my time nightfishing there a few summers back. Didnt tear em up, but it was good fishing.

We'll see if we can work it. I'm normally off mondays and tuesdays. I am thinking I will hit the state park this weekend, just a 130 mile drive.

Here we go, hijacking a perfectly legit thread. Ike got a hawg. He's still a doosh. Is that how you spell doosh? Oh well, at least its topical.

Yea sounds good John. No promises about what we catch, but I will see if I can't find the fish after a couple years.

The only reason i like ike is the way he freaks out!!!!! and his never give up attitude... other than that, kvd, best basser alive imo... then itll be duckett, only cuz he is from BAMA!!!
