Default On The Lake

.. alrighty well as yall know the glastrons almost water ready

i really want to hit the pond but i'm scared of gettting lost.. or something like that..

how do yyall not go into the wrong cove or stuff like that?

its different if your launching from a landing and from a house.. a houses is harder to find than a big marina.. i'll probally be from marinas most but my first one will be from a house..

Lets see...

Note any large landmarks.

Note the relation of the channel to the launch.

Note which direction is east, which is west, n and s and try and keep up in your head. The sun can help.

Map study beforehand will get you prepared.

Don't go more than 5 or so miles first trip. Less if possible unless its a simple body of water to navigate.

well if your hitten the pond don't thing your goen to get lost most rivers and lakes are easy as long as you got at lest 1 good land mark.i would say use a house or water tower not a tree or some thing that can bee moved. made that mistake of using a tree last summer and i'll be damned i can't find that spot now gess ill have to wate untill the summer to see it once the leaves come back , but you will do fine just have fun and be safe ooooand don't trust that the other boaters know what there doing all wayes keep your head up and looken good luck and good fishing

When we rented a house on the lake last year I made a waypoint at the dock. But what was better and easier to find was a "flag" I tied to the end f the dock I made out of an old shirt or something. Granted you have to know the approximate area but it sure helped finding the right house since none of it was familiar.
