Default New PB!!!

Around in my neck of the woods the biggest bass by word out of the local lake is 7 pounds and something and the biggest i ever saw out of there was 5 pounds...Anyways the average bass in my area is 2-3 pounds and anything over 3 is big...so i do not get much of a chance to catch anything over 3 pounds....The weekend started out saturday and the high was 45 so we did not get too many bites, but saturday it warmed up to the high 70's so we went fishing after church (me, and my two brother in laws)...We went to their grandma's pond (its about a 15 by 25 footer)...It has a log in there and there was this 4-5 pound (we could only guesstimate) and it would not bite anything you threw...We saw it a few times sunday but nothing it opened its mouth at my bait once and then decided no and went away...so my two brother in laws left and i stayed i was determined to get the fish.. THey told me it was impossible for me too catch if they couldn't...my personal best is 3 pounds 4 ounces...so i wanted it bad....It disappeared for the next 15 minutes so i took my tackle up the hill and put it in the truck...I was ready to leave so i went back down there to get my rods and i saw it again....I didn't have my tackle boxes and all the tackle i had was tied onto my rods..not much of a selection...but i knew the time to go up the hill could result in the fish disappearing again..so i threw every rod i had at it and nothing....so i figured nothing was working so i started walking away and saw my old beat up eaten up 8 inch lizard on the ground...i had a frog on a 5/0 Wide Gap weighted hook, it helps keep the head up...So i picked it up and turned around and the fish was gone....I didn't have the ideal hook for fishing the lizard but i decided to try it....I put the lizard on the frog hook and casted it to the other side and started working the bottom...about 5 feet in a felt a slight nick so reeled it up and it was still heavy so i set the hook like my life depended on it....and nothing no movement..so i started to reel it all the way up and my line takes off...the fish jumped about 9 times in 10 feet....I was just praying my line would hold up...I had 10 pound test, but you never know....So i got it in and it measured a little over 4 pounds..it wasn't a giant like some of yours but it was a big one around here...My new PB....

thats a good fish. I got my biggest of the year two weekends ago. It was a big 5 pounder. I was using a spinning reel and 8 pound line. I was fishing a super fluke around boat piers. It was a good day, because I got to fish with bamabassman. He is a real good guy!
