http://www.basspro.com/servlet/catal...rTarget=browse Out of the rest, which one would you pick if you had to keep it under $100? http://www.basspro.com/servlet/catal...SPINNINGCOMBOS Thanks for the help! Btw- I'll be doing a LOT of lake fishing, so I want a good all around combo. |

Well unfortunately they don't have what I would reccomend for a decent all around rod, which is a 6'6"Medium Heavy. For whatever reason I can't seem to find the combo's very often in 6'6"MH rod. They do it in 6' and 7' but not 6'6". Anyway any of those combo's would work. If shore fishing, I would go with 6' MH combo in the biggest reel size you feel comfortable with. I would go to the 7'MH if you will be boat fishing. There is also another combo on the second page of the bottom link. Has a Bionic Blade rod again, but a different reel, I think it was $89.98? Looks pretty good also

Thanks for the help! I haven't bought the combo yet, still looking around. I must have spent over $300 in the last couple of weeks on fishing gear. Bought a Pontoon, and lures. I still need to buy some waders & PFD! Now I want a new rod and reel...whats next?!? MAN...I'm in trouble..........

So should I buy one of these rod combos? Or should I look around some more? Need some opinions, don't want to buy something just to regret it later.

I'd get a high priced shimano or quantum combo if your just getting started,, the reels are anywhere from 59-100, depending on spinning or baitcasting, and they make a decent rod too. on both brands..
anytime you're willing to spend that amount for a reel and then another 50-80 for a rod, you're getting high quality product. The basspro magazine or online will have deals on combos that are usually sweet..you can compare the prices individually and see what the savings are... |

Thanks man! I been looking and looking. I just want a good deal on some quality stuff. Good looking out, I think I'm just gonna go with the shimano combo for $79.99. I own some shimano stuff (saltwater) so I know it's good stuff.
