Default Help me choose a new fish finder.

It will be mounted on the bow of my bass boat with the transducer on the trolling motor battery. What do you have and are you happy with it? Thanks.

Buuuuuuump. Come on guys. Help me out. Let me be a little more specific. Price is not too much of a concern. I'll spend the money to get what I think is the best unit. However, I don't want or need all the bells and whistles. No GPS. No maps. I know most all the lakes my bass club fishes and they're usually not over 5 or 6 thousand acres. I need a unit that is dependable, shows the bottom and anything in between and has a built in thermometer.

I would love to pitch in man but we are in the market for one ourselves , it might help if you added what type of price range you were trying to stay within .

ok, i use an EAGLE up front like you are wanting rigged. i like it ok............but, i want the lowrance i have by my console up there and a new finder in back. i am wanting a gps setup back there see. all i want up front is a finder that gives accruate depth and water temp. want the rest of the info on the rear one. hope this helps ya out. you can find some great finders at a great price for the front pretty easy.the lowrance i have in back is a 520 c also i think. it is more accruate then the little eagl i have up front, gives better readings in my opion. hummingbird has a good one, eagle has a good one and lowrance has a good one. my lowrance came on the boat, so i have not use anything other than these 2 finders. hope i helped you out some pal. don't know how much they would cost since mine are probably over 5 years old. but i seen the eagle at bps for around 300 bucks. the lowrance has a bigger screen and i can see it better. the eagle is smaller. but you can see pretty good with it as well. hope i helped you some with this. lmao.

I have the same thing (X-52 on a Triton). But, I would go with the Lowrance X510C if you can still find it, if not then the new HDS-5X

Mibasser, when I do decide to upgrade I would like to get a unit with a color display. But right now the x-52 has not let me down so far LOL..

i just bought a x96 at bass pro last night.i have looked at em all and studied em hard, the x96 looks to be the best buy.i had pondered the x52,the hummingbird 565,and eagle 320.i just felt the 96 offered a little more for the money.time will tell.
