Default Laser Lures: the new hot thing or the new gimmick?

I read a bit about them on tackle tour. I'm still not convinced...

What about you guys?

Kevin like them1 They're also on max exposure, they look like well bilt baits to me! The only way to really know for sure is to get one!

Good luck, and tell us how they work if you get some!

lol, Like I said, I'm not sold yet. And they are above the high end for cranks for me. The most I'll pay for a crank is about 10 bucks. Rapala is getting up there too, but those are proven lures. I also like the 10 dollar Spro Little Johns.

I'm not convinced either. Maybe I'll change my thinking when I start reading about these things winning more than their share of tournaments--but I'm not holding my breath.

gimmick..... im not sayin they make bad crankbaits.... they look great but the laser part is a gimmick.... they took this from a lure i saw on TV around 6 years ago that had the laser thing...... im also pretty sure red is the first color to disappear under the water b/c of the spectrum

so the crankbaits might be great and catch fish but the laser thing is a gimmick.... so you can buy them for 10$ or you can buy just as good as one for a couple bucks less

Aiken, Six years ago you still wearing footed jammies and watching cartoons? It wasn't a comercial, it was the weapon being used by the power rangers.
J/K brother, I couldn't resist.

I think there is something to be said to the science of the laser lure. The only real problem I have with it is the idea of the light waves being refracted. Which I would expect to diminish the affect. That being said, I would not be surprised if it did trigger some strikes based off of the lighting. Still, I have to agree at the cost based on results won't have my buying them anytime soon.

I'm waiting for Roland to slap his trademark "Son" and Jimmy to kiss it on the nose. But not until then will I be buying them. I know what you are talking about AYG. My buddy had the one you're talking about. He was always about that "As seen on TV" sticker. He finally caught a fish on it when it water logged and quit blinking.

They worked for Ike. Several look identical to a Lucky Craft, with similiar paint. I know the fish in my aquarium chase a laser spot, but will it work in open water? I have a few and will be using them very soon.

yeah they are good crankbaits... but if you killed the laser they would still catch the fish..... i mean in the muddy water of the Red River you really think they saw a little red dot????

At least they made good baits to put the light in, there have been many lighted baits over the years, but they had one thing in common they were not a bait you would throw if they didn't have a light in them. I can't say if they work because I haven't fished them, but looking at them I would say they have a better chance of getting my money than any other lighted bait has.

um lets think about this.... we all know fish aint known for their eyesight.... so how about you go jump into some muddy water and you try to look for a little tiny laser.... i mean the mud around here is like red/orangish so how you think the fish see the red in redish water

I think a 300 dollar Rago is more justified than this product. Atleast i know Rago's tract record for such a lure. It's a gimic that's been round since the 1990's. Back then they could be baught for 19.95.
