Well, all goes to show that this lure is even BETTER than I thought.
![]() We already know it is great for: 1. Letting it sink down and then twitching it up (slow) 2. Same as #1, only faster 3. casting it out and then twitching rapidly under the surface, especially in chopped water (spinner/crank alternative) And now: 4. Twitching up high ON TOP of the water and letting it sink, then twitching it back on top, to get a topwater strike. It may sound crazy to some of you, but it worked, and I was getting topwater hits and landed a couple. To be fair, I tried the popper. Nothing. Tried the buzzbait. One possible strike, not sure what it was. Tried the shallow dive plug... a couple strikes, but lost them. I was sight fishing (what a fun technique!) In the lilypads I could see fish splashing at bugs, and usually if you quickly get a slug-go over there, you'll get a strike. One pickerel (meh! LOL) even came out of the water to strike my lure before I got it back. My conclusion: if nothing else is working... try a slug-go, it's very versatile. ![]() |
