Here in the great state of Va I have to buy a trout stamp to Bass fish Local lakes just because they have Trout in them. Now here is why it gripes me. Trout fishermen fish 4 pound test and a hook so small that I couldnt even find it in my bag. I on the other hand use 20 pound line and generally throw DT-crankbaits or Bombers half the size of the trout the state stocks or a wide variety of Plastics. So unless a trout is Smoking Weed or Eating Willies Brownies

Just our governments doing everything that they can do to make a buck!
Get used to it, it will only get worse and never get better!!! At our local lake, you have to pay a $5.00 fee to park at the ramp whether you have a boat or not! I think that the only thing I can think of that does not require a permit is digging or collecting night crawlers!!

Holy CRAP!!! How much is it to actually launch a boat?
In Mississippi, it depends on whether the lake is MS Dept. of Wildlife Fisheries and Parks, or if it's a Corps of Engineers lake. The MDWFP lakes are $11 per person in the boat. I think shore fishing is $5 each.

Wow, that even beats my costs JB. Most of my lakes are about $5 to park, then between $6-10 to fish, and between $5-10 to launch.

wait you have to buy certain stamps to fish ponds???? thats kind of confusing..... but 24$ is outrageous..... most of the ones around here are no more than 5$ and most are only 2 or three and you can a DNR pass for most of the ramps where you just pay a straight fee and that pays as many days as you want ti

Jmartin, it's just like a regulation here in Michigan. No drop shotting in a downed river mouth or lakes. I guess guys would snag salmon in rivers where they would run for spawing.
As for parking! That's a bad subject. $50 for Lake Lansing (5 minutes away), $24 for State Parks, $24 for DNR launches, $20 Metro Park, $24 Metro Park boat launch.... I have a very expensive window!!! Then add more for the "other" ramps. |

Right. But you don't have to buy a trout stamp just because you're fishing water with trout in it. Or do you???

Not here we can't. Most of our lakes and resevoirs are owned by the city. I can get an annual pass for each city, but my lakes spread across 5 cities and they run about 100 each.

At my home lake (Lake Tarpon) it is free to use the boat ramp.
![]() It just costs $5 to park your truck after unloading. ![]() My wife bought me an annual pass for $100 that is good at any lake in Pinellas county. Brute |

It's only $15 for a North Carolina license, but Ft. Bragg has it's own license that cost $25 a year. I wouldn't be so peeved about it if they used the money to clean up the lakes around here, but any given day you can find people catfishing on some of the lakes that leave their beer cans, nightcrawler cans, chicken liver cans, and all their other trash just lying around. I take a trash bag with me when I go and pick the $#it up, but you can only do so much...

Most places around here are 100% free and only 1 or 2 dollars at private launches.

I lived in the EXACT barracks that they showed on dateline till my wife finished school. The housing here isn't any better, but they are building and remodeling finally. My house is only 700 square feet! I hate it. Next deployment I'm saving my money and buying a house. Should be pretty easy considering the market is way down
