Default Looking for a rod

I have been spending more time shore fishing this year and while I do enjoy it, it can creat some interesting casting challenges. I am trying to find a decent rod that is in the 6 foot range with enough backbone to pitch into weeds, backs of tullies, and laydowns. I find that I am often pitching in places where I am forced to next to the trees or even stepping out into an opening of tullies. The 7 foot rod that I have becomes bluky and awkward for me in those cases.

Thanks for any input.

falcon has a 6' rod in their original lineup that is a mh rod. it is the "skiatook" fc 6-16. it has a little more backbone than the ozarks lake special that is the same rod only in the lowrider series. this is just a couple thoughts. i think that mh will be the heaviest rod you will be able to find in a 6 footer.

Thanks C-Rig. All of my searches have also shown that MH is where most 6' top out. I was hoping ot find a heavy, but I will adapt.

If you're not looking for a high end rod, berkley lightning has a 6' MH version that tends to run about a half weight heavier, making it fairly close to a heavy rod, and on the plus side, they are very light and sensitive for the price range.
