A point is usually associated with land comming down into the lake, and making a triangular raised area that goes under the water and slopes downward.
What this means to the fish is a route to go up and down to hunt for baitfish, they feel safe at some point down the slope, or around it to the side, or at its best a curved tail end that leads to a creek channel. That way the bass can stay in the channel during winter and live up or near the slope during summer.. A point can also be made of dif vegetation, many times you will have a point on the side of a cove, and once you go in the cove see secondary points, made of land or structure that comes out into the water....fish associate with points during dif. times of weather, they will go deep off a point in bad weather and then come back up to feed days later after the weather has stabelized.. Hope that helps |
