A couple of good early games so far. Iowa and Norther Iowa got close to start the 3rd qtr.
Syracuse vs Minn has been a boxing match. Week one is fun to see who is over and under ranked.

Navy is trying to hang in there. I'm keepin an eye on them.

One game that is standing out to me - West Virginia is having their trouble with Liberty. I'm fixing to google Liberty, I'm not even certain where that is!

The 'Cuse is looking pretty good. I think Brushog said he is in attendence there.

Waiting for OKie St UGA and ND games.

san jose made usc look bad in the first half..

Sat Second row behind the Minnesota bench today and got a DB form Minnesota to curse me out when I told him if he was any good he would have gone to Ohio State! Syracuse was much improved and the Dome was rockin' Paulus made a real bad throw and got picked off in overtime! The Brushhog family had a great time and are looking forward to Bama and VT starting up!

We'll see Mallen, we'll see, lol. Us Irish fans have grown to be cautious for sure in recent years. But I have a feeling this year is going to be one of our better years in a long time. My only concern is our defensive line. The rest of the team is loaded with talent.

Hey Bama, have a question for you. We were discussing mascots while watching college football saturday and we got to talking about Alabama having the elephant for a mascot. You have any idea why the elephant became the mascot?

wtl can most likely give oyu the correct answer on the elephant mascot. but i do know how they got the name CRIMSON TIDE. it was a sportsreporter who said they offensive line looked like a crimson tide blocking for the running backs. wtl can give the official line on that too.
thinking about it, i think another reporter said that the team was so big it looked like a herd of elephants stampeding on the field or something of that nature.

here is a bit of trivia for you gang.

how many college football teams have 2 mascots or nicknames? bama is one of course. who are the others?

Judging from the moron announcers, Michigan must have 2. They get called the wolves all the time. Either that or the announcers don't realize they're 2 seperate animals...............

Your right about Western. They have a good program year in year out. They gave Ball State all they coould handle last year, and Ball State was a heck of a team last year. I definatelly agree on the Ohio State/Navy game!!! State got lucky on that one. Navy should have won that game. OSU is definately over rated. I bet USC rips them apart this comming saturday. Nice! lol Can't hate ya for that, I'd do the same. My daughter used to live in a little town about an hour from St Louis. Big Blues fans in the town. They even had autographed pictures of players on the walls in the McDonald's.

Well, they had Betty Lou for the Crimson Tide mascot, but they realized she was only up to it one week a month.....

Stanford is a single cardinal and a tree. I think there are way more than 2 with multiple mascots.

Miami is the hurricanes with the ibis.

Georgia Tech are Yellow jackets and an old car.
