I have tried to find videos online or websites that show proper casting techniques (not fly fishing). I would like to know if I’m flipping and pitching efficiently, maybe tips on how to skip under a dock, or drop in a hole in the weeds, etc.
Any suggestions? Last edited by Soup1K9; 09-06-09 at 02:36 PM. Reason: grammer |

If it hits the target and enters the water like Louganis off the high dive, your doing it right. I like to walk in the yard and just start pitching and hitting dirt spots or leaves in the yard. My grandpa started me out using pie pans in the yard, too. As far as skipping under, just treat the bait like a rocks you used to skip as a kid. I don't really use this cast too much, but we don't really have any docks around here. Here is a little write up from ESPN, http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/print...786&type=story . Good luck, and practice practice practice.

Kevins jig videos shows flipping and pitching. I think it is the first of the two on jigs.
http://www.bassfishin.com/fishing-videos/ Skipping is best learned with a spinning reel and then adapted to a baitcaster. Like bubba said, it is like skipping a rock.

There is a video you can purchase from Bass Pro that teaches you all about pitchin and flippin. It's from the Keven VanDam collection. It's called Pitchin To Heavy Hitters. I bought this video when I started learning about pitchin and I highly recommend it.
