Default Plastic Frogs (Gimmick??)

I needed to pick up a pack of softbodied frogs recently but found that the store was out of the ones I wanted. I ended up picking up a pack of Secret Lures, chubby frogs. They advertise that they reduce short strikes because of how they use clear legs. I figured that part was a gimmick, but the frog would disrupt the water the way I wanted, so I picked them up.

I can not say that the legs make a big difference, but I have not had any short strikes on them.

Your thoughts, are the clear legs a gimmick?
