Not quite bragging, even though I did get a few good ones when I first got there. Of course once I got the camera out all I got were dinks and perch but here is a video I made just for fun of drop shotting 25-43':
![]() At the end of the video I found a hump that came up to 10-12' in the middle of the lake. I've only fished the lake once or twice and never down at this end. And a pic from Upper Saranac a couple days ago at sunset: ![]() |

Hey B, I bet its pretty quiet on the water up that why right now. Most spots up your way tend to get very little traffic after the leaves turn. Great video, I'm looking forward to the ones that have snow in the background! When are you planning to wrap it up for the year?

I have a little bracket stuck on top of the TM. I didn't know where else to put it.
It is strange but I have been the only boat the last few times. Upper is 5,300 acres and Lower is 2,300 and I pretty much have them all to myself. I usually go out and have a tough time and say that I'm done, but then I get one more trip and do well. I guess 2 bad trips in a row or ice, then I'm done. |

Instead of making a new thread I'll just update this one. I got out on the same lake today and tried all new areas. There was only one other boat and he was fishing for pike. I caught 2 nice pike, one about 8-10 pounds on a Pointer 100 and another smaller about 26-28" on a deep Husky Jerk 12. The day started off really slow but I finally found some bass and ended up doing really well. Here are the two biggest with the 4#6oz coming on a drop shot and the 3-12 on the deep Husky Jerk 12:
![]() ![]() ![]() and here is one that was just a little bigger than the average size: ![]() Also caught a lot of rock bass and a couple perch. Water was 46-47 on the surface and the air temp got up around 50 with a brisk west wind almost all day. |

Bender, Nice fish.....but I hate you
![]() (I'm still having a heck of a time finding the fish and when I do find the fish, they don't seem interested in what I throw at them).

Thanks guys! It got up to almost 60 here yesterday so I went to Upper Saranac. Water was 45-47 and I fished more shallow at first since I was hoping the warm weather would bring them up. No luck so I headed back to my deep spots. No luck. I really had a hard time to find them. Finally at dusk I hit my top spot that has deep and shallow water and there were a lot of fish on the sonar. I threw everything at them and only caught one smallie about 16" long on a white tube. It's amazing how big of a difference one day can make.

Water temps. in the mid-40's, that sounds to me like a good time to try a Float-N-Fly, in getting to any of those suspended bass. I might also add that this technique is still new to me.

I got some Punisher jigs just for that but didn't have any success when I tried it last year. Maybe I'll give it a shot again soon. For me casting it was about the most clumsy thing I have ever done. Thanks for the reminder about it, I even have a spot in mind for it.
