How do you work one of these in really shallow water for bass? I just bought a 1/8 oz. Chrome/Blue?

Cast it out and reel it in. No need to get fancy, just chunk and wind.

Throw it out and reel, then stop for a second , then continue to reel, many times the bass will hit it on the fall.
You'll find all kinds of moss and sticks with that bait, you'll have to determine if you want to retrieve it as soon as it hits the bottom, or reel it as soon as you get it in the water,
Ideally is to find weedbeds and burn that RatL Trap over the top and let it dive as you quit reeling, then begin your retrieve again,
Dont just throw it out and drag it in, that will put you to sleep
Plus you can make a sweeping motion with the rod every now and then as you reel to make the trap BRRRRrrrr sound of the B B's rattlin' 8)

All the rat-l-traps I have ever fished with floated. Never had one to sink after hitting the water.

They have floating versions, red zone versions which suspend and regular versions which sink.

rattlin rapala in a shad pattern 1/2 oz.is my favorite out of all lipless cranks.it's great burned over weedbeds and out in open deep water on an overcast day.here's a lipless crankbait fish caught on an overcast day.
