Default Spookin'

Whats everyone think about throwing the Zara Spook tonight? too early or not?
Water temp is mid 60s
Air temp is 70 15 mph. Had a cold front of sorts this week but the bite is red hot.
I am going to show Denny the ins and outs of "walkin'
the dog"
and hope to catch some fish...I just have it in my head to throw the spook later in the summer but I guess they have been receptive to top water for weeks here in Ohio.
Just wondering if any of ya all have thrown it this year, I haven't heard any convo on the boards yet..so I'm askin...

If their hitting topwaters already, they'll hit ths SPOOK

So what if they don't, you at least taught him a new technique. Man wish someone would've showed me all that stuff, I learned by trial and error. Consider yourself a lucky guy Denny 8)

He's comming along nicely lizards... eager to learn and getting the hang of landing them with out error....
I had a buddy show me the basics but it took a few old guys like I am now to fine tune my presentation.
The things that took me the longest to master were--\
flipping and making no splash on landing,
and getting a really hard hook set every time..
Its mainly all about spending time on the water day in and day out, I'd take only one rod and one lure and forced myself to learn it or not fish..

Hey
we just got back, I put on the zara spook and gave denny a puppy, each of us had a fish.
The real bite was still the bass under a moss canopy and getting them to bite the frog..Wasn't as productive as we wanted, but thats fishing :-[

WEll wizkid denny spanked me with 3 and I had one
one was my fault, i had sprayed my reels with WD40 and it loosened up the drag , I never checked it till after a nice one got off..(there always bigger when the get off arent they)
I have had good and bad luck spraying WD40 on my reels , in the past everyone did it, it works for a while but i think cleaning and oiling the reel is better.
WD40 will clean up any rod n reel. I am always getting dirt on mine...

I use the standard Spook, its kinda clear/white on the bottom and a strip on top that looks like baby bass.
but I also have several others in the past, I used to run a all crome one, and had a black and gold one...I imagine they are popular in any lake , it imitate a dying bait fish or shad croakin' on the surface

If I were to buy a spook ,it would be the new super spook jr.Of course I live where there are smallmouths and largemouths. You will catch a smallmouth once in a while on a regular spook but they will hook up alot better on the spook jr. P N J
