It is simply moving the lure in one place using the rod tip. You know how when you pick up a rod in a store and give it the buggy whip test by vibrating the tip back and forth? Same thing except your lure is sitting on the bottom, and you don't work it as hard as you do in the store. If you want it to just slightly shake, grab the handle of your rod real hard. When you do that it makes the tip vibrate, and that in turn causes the bait to quiver. Not hard to do at all.

i guess you mean when people say shaking the rod tip? to do this, just use a suddal(SP) vibration to make the rod tip vibrate up and down. this will make the lure move or shake in one place. it is all in the wrist. this technique really is used for jigs and finesse fishing with a worm. usually if they have rattles in them. this will make the rattles...well, rattle....go figure ;D

I am probably guilty of shaking it way to much lol
seriously tho, I try to flip the plastic lure and let it sit for some seconds, and then shake the rod tip rather than turning the reel all the time What this does is move the bait but not pull it a foot or two at a time which looks to fast and un natural. But this spring I got to watching the creature bait Â*I had on and I was shaking it like always, but this time got a real good look as what I was doing, and realized even the amount of shaking I was doing looked to aggressive. So I kinda learned that yes raising the rod tip n lowering it slow an smooth gives a better presentation , plus keeps that bait in the target zone longer 8) |
