My father was an electritians mate on a gasoline tanker in the Pacific during the last couple years of World War 2. These are some pics of some of the crew fishing off of the tanker.
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() This is a picture of my father, second from left, and some guys in the guts of the ship. He never really saw any combat that I know of, he really never talked much about it. But Mama says he used to tell her about how it would mess with his head bad working down in the ship while they were navagating areas where ships had been known to hit mines. I imagine it did. I'd think you'd have to have a true set of cohonies to work in the guts of a ship loaded with gasoline while going through areas like that and not go crazy every time you hear a bump. ![]()
