bassturd,stole the depthfinder head unit off my yak.if find out who i'll DROWN his but..

thar i were sneaking out to bust a lil bass this evening.. i stopped of in town fer a dew and chips.-snack of champions there- i rolled down to the lake started to put in and seen the head unit was GONE..

i was severly pissed off...it was not like it was a hd lowrance but a small eagle cuda..

good news is i can switch out the head unit in my boat-another cuda- and go tomarow..

pays to think ahead at times huh?

I'm always worried some lowlife is gonna steal something from the boat every time we stop somewhere and leave it unattended for any length of time......I hate thieves.

Dad and I always pull my fish finders off and I keep them is a pistol case. It works great and I paid like $10 at k-mart.

Man..it's posts like this that remind me why I pay extra insurance on my gear, install a security system, get a quick release mount for my trolling motor, and pack a handgun.

Sorry to hear about that, Zooker. There's nothing worse than a thief. I used to steal stuff for fun as a kid, before I wised up...that is to say, the police wised me up.

after filling a police report last night -city cop was at the store-

i got a call from the city cop shop they "found" a depthfinder head unit..and i had to go id it to get it back,yep it was mine alright..

the city cops did not say where or how they found it..likely they want to keep there quiet lil town peaceful and not having a knuckle dragging neandertal rampaging thru the streets.

Wow, thats really dirty sounding.

My father was making fun of me for being paranoid while parking the boat anywhere. I dont have a real rod locker so someone could make off pretty good if they suceeded in taking the rods off the deck. I always park facing open windows so I can see my gear when I am inside wherever.

It wouldnt be a bad feature if hummingbird created a little tab that you could lock a head unit on with.

Zook, sucks that someone would do that, but glad to hear you got it back.

I'm always paranoid leaving stuff on the boat, but I never though about the fish finder... One of our rod lockers locks, the other doesn't (previous owner had to break into it for some reason). luckily, that's the rod locker with like a max of 3 rods in it. so we take em out and put them in the truck when we stop.
