First, contrats! It is sometimes hard to tell in photos, but it was smart of you to line it up next to your rod for perspective and comparison. Maybe a 16" bass so my amateur guess (to take with a grain of salt) is between 2-3 lbs. Nice bass in any water.

The bass in pictures 1 & 2 weighs 2-1/4 lbs.

The bass in picture 3 weighs 2 lbs.

The bass in pictures 4 & 5 weighs 2-1/2 lbs.

Just my opinion.

You, my friend, have a very well trained eye, down to the 1/4 pound!

I agree with what the other guys said, between 2 and 3 lbs.

Very nice bass. You're hooked now so I will give you some advice that I have learned over the past few years in regards to taking photos by yourself. This not to say I have all of these things as I am on a tight budget with fishing.

Buy a flexible plastic tape measure (and only use 30" of it). Found at any fabric store. This helps tremendously when measuring the girth of the fish. It is also easier to lay down next to the fish when measuring the length.

Buy a small flexible tripod (They are called Gorilla Pods). These attach to any digital camera. http://joby.com/gorillapod/original

Buy a small digital camera with a timed flash. Also make sure the camera uses batteries and not a special rechargeable battery. Hard to stop at a gas station and buy a new special lithium battery for your camera when the battery is dead.

The Gorilla Grip tripod and timed flash allow for you to be in the picture as well.

Buy a small hand held digital scale. I just purchased one and it is so much easier to read the weight instead of guesstimating.

LOL...would you rather I had reported the weights to the nearest 0.01 lb?

I could do that you know. As long as I measure the length and the girth, I can know the weight that precisely. Don't you know that?

My main point was, as I do indeed have a very well-trained eye, that there are 5 pictures, but only 3 fish there.

Im from western mass and all fish were cought on a red shad colored trigger x worm. I rigged them texas style with no wieght and let them hit the bottom then pull it every few seconds. Two of them I spotted swiming around close to shore and watched them slam my worm! It was was awsome!

I know we had another Trigger X thread going awhile back but I finally got a look at them the other day in person. They look like good baits, a little on the pricey side though.

Nice fish dude! I would say all are between 2 to 2 1/2 pounds. Walker about the Trigger X baits. I had gotten a free pack of the flippin bugs a while back and I didnt like them at all. They tear up more easy then Gulp and the attractant makes your hands sticky.

I was wondering about that too. I have a feeling that they are pretty nasty.
